In February 2023, Christina Hsu embarked on an inspiring journey alongside two visionary leaders, Mr. Danny Chen, the executive director of Bella Vista College Preparatory School, and Mr. Jim Chen, a distinguished board member of the esteemed Walnut Confucius Chinese Language School. Together, they ushered in the dawn of a remarkable educational organization - the Top-Notch Educational Group. This visionary venture, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation, stands as a beacon of hope in the realm of education. Its mission? To diligently oversee and nurture public charter schools, enlightening educational programs, and transformative enrichment camps. This is more than just an organization; it's a force of positive change in the world of learning.

Executive Director
Christina Hsu is a pioneering force in California's educational landscape. With a credential in hand, she revolutionized Mandarin dual language immersion in Southern California's public schools, enriching language learning. A principal for 15+ years at a community Chinese language school, her influence reaches beyond classrooms. Advocacy within the Southern California Council of Chinese Schools led to her role in passing Legislature SB 1116 in 2010, propelling language education.

A holder of a Master of Bilingual Education and Multiple Subject Credentials with BCLAD authorization from Loyola Marymount University, Christina champions continual learning. Her background in pharmaceutical research adds a unique facet. Advocating early STEAM education, she emphasizes nurturing scientific thinking and problem-solving skills for young minds, fostering a generation of critical thinkers.

At the helm of the Top-Notch STEAM Academy, Christina envisions transcending language barriers. This Azusa-based charter school, focusing on Mandarin dual language immersion from Tk-8th grade, seeks bilingual, culturally astute, and globally aware graduates. Christina's dedication to reshaping education empowers future generations.

Danny Chen is a versatile individual who has made a mark in various fields. He co-founded HNTea Group in January 2018 while also serving as Executive Director at Bella Vista Global/Bella Vista College Preparatory School since March 2018. Notably, he was formerly the Executive Director of Turning Point Education (Nov. 2014 - Mar. 2018).

Chen's proficiency in English, Chinese Mandarin, and Taiwanese, coupled with his international liaison work, highlights his adaptability. He held leadership roles, including vice-president of the Chinese Student Association and president of Sino Interactive Non-profit Organization. Demonstrating his entrepreneurial flair, he grew a startup into a thriving company with 20+ employees, valued over $6 million by age 28. He strategically expanded markets for a publicly-traded electronic company, serving clients like NBA, Best Buy, and Walmart.

Chen's accomplishments span various domains, including being a California Certified Licensed REALTOR® and Insurance professional. He holds T.E.S.O.L. certification from the Canadian Institute of English and is recognized as an International Liaison (Taiwan R.O.C.). These achievements underscore Danny Chen as a versatile entrepreneur, educator, and leader, consistently succeeding across diverse professional avenues.

Jim Chen boasts an impressive career across diverse sectors. Since 2000, he has excelled as a California Real Estate Broker. Prior to this, he showcased his engineering skills as a Design Engineer at Schneider Electric and Emerson Power. His experience extends internationally, having been President of Extreme Power Supply in Taiwan and a Field Engineer at International Power Machine.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jim Chen is deeply engaged in community service, reflecting his dedication to giving back. He has been serving as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Confucius Chinese Language School in Walnut, CA since 2017. This role showcases his commitment to promoting education and cultural understanding within the community. Additionally, Jim is also the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Together Against Crime Foundation in East San Gabriel Valley, CA since 2022, underscoring his commitment to enhancing the safety and well-being of his community.

Jim's educational background further attests to his intellectual curiosity and drive for excellence. He holds a Master's degree in Material Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he pursued advanced studies from 1979 to 1981.Jim Chen's journey is a testament to his multidisciplinary expertise, unwavering commitment to community development, and his continuous pursuit of knowledge and growth.
